Question:
So, what is the difference between Youth Endeavors and something like the YMCA or Boys and Girls Club? Answer: Our program transports to school districts and specific schools to deliver our services, rather than have an established location to travel to. Question: Can I be assured my child will be ready to be picked up once I am able to pick him/her or will they be unattended for? Answer: Yes! All our activities, trips, services and resources will be documented with a time, date and place for your convenience to plan around. Question: Will transportation to and from the services to my child’s school be taken care of? Answer: All transportation is covered with our services. Question: I want Youth Endeavors to come to my child’s school, how can I get this program to come to our school. Answer: Any bookings we receive are meet on a needs-based basis. We determine by our metric where we can meet the greatest need within our capacity to the school, district or city. Question: How can I get involved as a parent/guardian with Youth Endeavors? Answer: We love to get anyone, parent or child, involved with Youth Endeavors. One the newer programs Youth Endeavors offers, the Food and Garden program is a unique opportunity for children ages 12-18.
Children will learn to grow, harvest and cook fresh ingredients of their choice. They will embark on educational and fun field trips to local farms with our adult chaperones. Here, they will learn to care for baby chicks and even bring some fresh eggs and milk home to cook with. With every school that chooses to partner with us for this program, we are happy to provide transportation for all the participants from school, to our facility and field trips, and to home as well. Learn more about our other programs Why is playing outside important? Learning in the classroom is traditional, however, it can be boring. Studies have shown children become more engaged and learn more in curriculum-based outdoor programs. These are five benefits children receive when playing outside:
1. Children who play outside are more active, thus being more physically fit. Playing outside helps prevent obesity and promotes a healthy lifestyle. 2. Studies have shown that exposing children to nature improves their motor skills. 3. Schools that offer forms of environmental education score higher on standardized tests. 4. Playing outside raises vitamin D intake, which strengthens bones and the immune system. 5. By being exposed to nature at a young age, children are likely to form a lifelong bond with nature. Ultimately learning to love, respect and preserve the environment. Kids and adolescents are naturally drawn to playing outside. Let's encourage the future generations to embrace the outdoors! We're Nia, Natalie, Austin and Emily. We are Youth Endeavors. For our project we decided to create a mock company that had one meaningful goal in mind: helping children in communities in need. With our idea, we want to target low-income communities and give those children amazing opportunities.
Our programs seek to not only help these children have fun; we provide a much needed safe place. Youth Endeavors programs provide transportation, food and stability for children who may not always recieve this same stability at home. We want to encourage the youth of today to become environmentally aware and get excited about the outdoors. |
